The remains of Checkpoint Charlie, which was the border between the American patrolled sector in West Berlin and the Soviet patrolled sector of East Berlin. The street is so popular as a tourist site that the gate and a replica of the sign was put back up after it was originally taken down after German reunification in 1990.
