Thanks for visiting DOSER.ORG. We hope you find our web site interesting. If you are curious, here is a little information about us:
Mark: I was born in Rochester, New York and grew up in
nearby Fairport. After teaching for several years in the Rochester
area, I moved to Lake Placid, in the Adirondack Mountains of New York
State. I taught social studies at Keene Central School in Keene
Valley. I developed a real love for the Adirondack Mountains. The
pictures of the Adirondacks on this web site I took myself. In 1996 and
1997 I
taught English at two summer language camps in Banya, Bulgaria and
Yalta, Cimea, Ukraine. There are many pictures and more information
on the Bulgaria and Crimea pages. In 1998 I began teaching English in
Sofia, Bulgaria on a fellowship from the University of Montana. From
1999 to 2004 I taught world history at the American
College
of
Sofia. In 1999 I married Iva. I like
to play the guitar, listen to music, go skiing, be outdoors, use
computers and speak Bulgarian. Some of my favorite foods are:
pizza, chili, wafer cookies (вафли,
in Bulgarian), kavarma, musaka and tacos. (See the Bulgarian page for
descriptions of Bulgarian food.) I teach US History and Economics at
Penfield High School.
Iva: I was born in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, the youngest of three
sisters. I graduated from the Aprilov High School in Gabrovo, which
was the first school established in all of Bulgaria in 1835. I met
Mark in 1996. I attended Sofia University and graduated in 2000 with
a degree in Law. I like to go
for walks, exercise to keep in shape and visit new places. I am a
financial services representative for Canandaigua National Bank.
